While there were only a couple of years between the original Camp Rock movie and its sequel Camp Rock: The Final Jam, Disney Channel waited another 16 years before bringing the franchise to a new generation. (Guess it wasn’t the final jam after all.) And at the Los Angeles premiere of Camp Rock 3 on August 10, Demi Lovato reunited with not only the Jonas Brothers but also Mitchie Torres's hairstyle from the second film.

One look at Lovato's hair at the red carpet nostalgia fest and you may experience beauty déjà vu. It's dark, glossy, long, softly layered, and swept dramatically over to one side in a very deep side part. Sound familiar? That's because it's remarkably reminiscent of the hair she wore in Camp Rock 2.

Back then, Lovato's hair was a similarly deep, nearly-black shade, falling well past her shoulders with long, face-framing layers and a firmly established side part that said, “I just left MySpace for Facebook, and I'm ready for my new profile pic.” Her Camp Rock 3 premiere version keeps those same essential ingredients: the color, the comparable length, the cascading layers, and—most importantly—that part. But it’s a considerably more grown-up look.

Her makeup is polished, with darkly, fully lined eyes, softly sculpted cheeks, and a glossy, rosy lip with contoured edges. The sleekness of her hair also gives the side part a more intentional, glamorous quality rather than making it feel like she just stepped out of a 2010 tutorial.

And then there's the fit. Lovato wore a bronze dress with a fitted, ruched silhouette and corset-inspired detailing, giving the entire look a decidedly not-teenage feel, making it clear that this wasn't an attempt to recreate Mitchie exactly as she was.

It's Mitchie with a mortgage.
